Homeopathic Medicine Homeopathic Medicine is a medical system that uses minute doses of natural substances-called remedies-to stimulate a person's immune and defense system. Based on the principle of "like cures like", these remedies specifically match different symptom patterns of illness, and act to stimulate the body's natural healing response. Samuel Hahneman, a German physician in the late 18th century believed symptoms of disease were our body's way of restoring balance. Hahneman determined that producing 'like' symptoms would allow the body to induce a natural healing response using three basic principles: prescription by the law of similar, minimum dosage, and singular dosage. Common conditions homeopathy addresses are infections, fatigue, allergies, and chronic illnesses, such as arthritis. |
