The Education
you need to start a
Matchmaking Business.

1. The training program you go through in Dallas plus your expenses to get to Dallas, stay in a hotel, and travel to the Dallas office.

2. A small budget for advertising which depends upon your area. We can teach you to find inexpensive, and sometimes free, advertising.

3. A small space to interview. Although you can do your matching and office work from home, we suggest you have a space for interviewing. We can teach you to find inexpensive, but classy space for interviews. We do not suggest you lease office space unless you want to do that.

4. A telephone that can be used for business. A cell phone is fine.

5. Start-up business expenses will include business cards, filing a DBA in your area, copying forms, and briefly hiring a professional to explain bookkeeping, local permits, and contracts to you unless you already have knowledge and/or experience in those areas. 

6. Access to email.

The following items are nice but not necessary in the beginning

1. A computer for keeping track of your clients. This computer is not used for matching and does not need to be state of the art--an old, reliable computer is fine. 

2. A printer for your computer allows you to print forms, business cards, and send out match sheets. 

3. Microsoft Word for your forms and Microsoft Access for a  database. We do supply suggested forms and the database but we do not supply the programs or training to operate the programs. You can operate your business copying your forms and matching and sending out introductions without a computer. However, after a certain number of clients, the two computer programs assist you in keeping track of your business and save you time. 

4. We will supply you with a small, simple website. However, you may want to update that website yourself. You will need the computer program Microsoft FrontPage to do this.
