Romance in a Blended Family

Pat McChristie

Blended Family: Find time for romance. It is the oil that greases for fewer everyday problems.

Although finding the time for romance in a blended family is not easy, it is necessary to a healthy marriage. A healthy marriage is necessary for a healthy blended family.

Think of romance as the oil that lessens strife and makes for fewer problems in the family.

What do you think of when you think of love and romance?

  • Sensuous conversations by the fire
  • A happy, loving couple engaged in some romantic endeavor.
  • Toasting each other's successes with a glass of champagne.
  • Dancing in the moonlight
  • Walking hand-in-hand in the woods.
  • Strolling down a sandy beach.
  • Love letters.

Right?

Why not try a few of the above romantic suggestions.

Very small gifts that are not particularly expensive but are thoughtful are always a welcome surprise.

Remember: Romance is as much a habit as it is time related or time-consuming.

At the very least, tuck a love note in someone's lunch or bag--even wrap it around a cell phone.

And take a few minutes in the morning, before dinner, and before bed to kiss, hold hands, or tell someone how much you love him/her and how much you appreciate the love and support your receive.

And don't forget compliments... How long has it been since your spouse has given you a compliment? And how long has it been since you reciprocated?
