Possibly the worst thing that hashappened to wildlife in North Central Texas is loss of habitat–more loss inurban areas than rural areas, of course. This has happened because of the vastpopulation, where people live, and human food production, of course.
Food animals, particularly the largeones like cows and pigs, have an extreme adverse effect on the environment andto a great degree, an adverse effect on wildlife in North Central Texas.
Keep in mind thatanimals are much smaller than humans which puts them at greater risk fromenvironmental toxinsin general. In fact, your dog or cat is at risk from the benzene released in gas drilling as benzene causes cancer inanimals, too.
