Conventionaltoilet bowl cleaners probably contain chlorine bleach and hydrochloric acid (HCL).Both can harm you if you even breathe their fumes.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner #1
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- Add borax if stained
Combine and use with brush to clean toilet.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner #2
- Pour: 1/4 cup baking soda into bowl and drizzle with vinegar.
- Let sit for 1/2 hour.
- Scrub and flush.
- Add borax for stains.
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 gallon warm water
Basin, Tub, and Tile
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 2 or 3 T liquid soap (castile, peppermint)
It is a good ideato install a timer on each bathroom venting system. If we develop a habit ofturning that timer to 20 minutes when we leave the bathroom, we not only removehumidity from the air, we also removes bad odors.
Commercialfresheners, on the other hand, work by masking smells, coating nasal passages,and deadening nerves to diminish sense of smell. Read more here.
