Green bean casserole can be your main dish.
FWVS’s Recipe Green Bean Casserole: a main or sidedish.
|1 package firm silken tofu
1/4 cup non-dairy "milk"
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cans French cut green beans
1`small can fried onions
|Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Crumble tofu into blender, add "milk," then blend until smooth.
Sauté onion in oil for 10 minutes. Add mushrooms and soy sauce; sauté until mushrooms are tender.
Remove from heat and add the blended tofu.
Add salt and pepper to taste and mix well.
Drain green beans and place beans and 1/2 can fried onions in casserole dish.
Pour mushroom mixture over bean/fried onions and mix.
Bake for 45 minutes. Top with remaining fried onions and bake 5 more minutes.
This tasty side dish with tofu can also double as your main dish at anymeal.
