What do you call your grandparents? Grandparents' names are often from a grandchild's mispronunciation. |
My grandfather is James W. Diverty, Sr. 94 yrs old and I call him
"PaPa." My beloved grandmother "Norni" went home to be with the Lord
on April 1, 1992 and I became a grandmother 7 weeks later. I
am now known as "Norni" to my grandchildren.
PDK My first grandchild called me "GA GA" and I thought, "that's different." I also was only 40 years-old at the time and wasn't crazy about being called "Grammy, Gram or Granny." That just wasn't me! So I answered to GA GA, which turned into Gaga and when her brother came along he of course called me the same. Now they are 9 yrs. and 6 yrs. and people just kind of look at me when they hear my "name" called. I, on the other hand, kind of enjoy it.
