Although everyone is exposed to a mix of electric and magnetic fields in the home and the place of business, there is considerable controversy over the health consequences of electromagnetic fields at this time.
The World Health Organization (WHO) writes, :"As societies industrialize and the technological revolution continues, there has been an unprecedented increase in the number and diversity of electromagnetic field (EMF) sources. These sources include video display units (VDUs) associated with computers, mobile phones and their base stations. While these devices have made our life richer, safer and easier, they have been accompanied by concerns about possible health risks due to their EMF emissions."
According to a study done at the University of Zurich by R. Huber in the the division of nuclear medicine , electromagnetic fields, such as those from mobile phones, alter regional cerebral blood flow and sleep and waking EEG.
Tiny electrical currents exist in the human body due to the chemical reactions that occur as part of the normal bodily functions, even in the absence of external electric fields. It is known that low-frequency electric fields influence all materials made of charged particles, including the human body. Although the currents are very small compared to thresholds for producing shock and other electrical effects, there is still that controversy about health consequences.
It is beyond the scope of this website to solve that controversy but caution is advised just as caution is advised anytime there are unknown health consequences about an item.
