Maybe we can publish a website in the future about toxic chemicals and green building and remodeling. At this time, the only advice we can give is to be cautious, read labels, and study product information sheets. Construction materials are a minefield of toxic chemicals. Toxic chemicals abound in any household. The first step on ridding your home of toxic chemicals is to keep all cleaning supplies and nail products outdoors. Over a period of time, use up the chemicals and replace them with natural cleaning supplies. If you continue to use nail products, do not bring them back in your home. Their fumes are quite toxic. Use Low or No VOC paints when remodeling. That is money well spent.
