The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, aka ERCOT, operates the electric grid and manages the derugulated market for 75 percent of the land in the State of Texas.

ERCOT schedules power on an electric grid that connects more than 38,000 miles of transmission lines and more than 550 generation units.

ERCOT manages financial settlement for the retail-power market and administers customer switching in that market.
