After your new PV
system is installed, it must be inspected and approved by the local
permitting agency. Your installation contractor should handle this for
you. If your system is
grid-tied, it will also be inspected by the electric utility of your
interconnection. Your local utility has rules and regulations that must be
followed for safety and other reasons. Your installation contractor should
also handle this. Inspectors may
require your PV installer to make corrections. Do not be alarmed as this
is fairly common in the construction industry. A copy of the permit showing the final inspection sign-off may be required to qualify for a solar rebate or credit program. Make certain you receive a
copy of this..
