Using a new and energy-efficient electric water heater (50 gallons) which is estimated by the U.S. government to use 4622 kilowatt hours per year with pollution calculated using eGRID2006 Version 2.1 State File (Year 2004 Data) average electric generation emission factors and average electricity rate by customer type from U.S. DOE’s Electric Sales, Revenue, and Average Price 2005 for Texas Hot water heater has 2 elements at 4500 watts each.
